Project10
Another day is over.
I look at my child sleeping and know that tomorrow morning he will rise for another morning without a sandwich. It tears me apart.
I feel like I can’t give my child what he needs.
I don’t wish for any mother to feel that way. ❤️
Tomorrow morning all his friends will come to school after a nutritious breakfast and start the day with energies,
And my son?! He won’t be able to concentrate, or function properly because he had nothing to eat.
I feel like every day is a battle, just survive the next day. Every day that I know he has something to eat and can start this day is a sigh of relief for me.
Then … evening comes again, and the pressure of what will be tomorrow eats me away.😔
I know that there is nothing for him to eat at home either, but at least at home he doesn’t have to feel ashamed from his friends, from the teachers.
Every time he comes home I see this shame in his eyes. the moment when everyone opens their bags and take out their sandwiches is another knife in my child’s heart.
One day I sent him without food, as usual. I was expecting to see that same sad look on his face when he got home … but then he came back smiling. He told me that someone put a sandwich in his bag and wrote “Bon appetite” on it. The next day the same thing happened again.
Over time, I found out that dozens of kids arrive to school without food, just like my son.😔
And they, like angels from the sky have noticed them and since then, they make sure that the kids get a nutritious meal that gives them a chance to be like all their friends because they deserve it!
I realized that someone was behind it.
“Project Ten o’clock meal.”
A large group of volunteers work to make sure no child remains hungry! ❤️
they make sandwiches for the hungry children every day.
The sandwiches are handed over to school administrators and discreetly distributed to every child in need.
Their day simply transforms the moment they get the sandwich.
_____
Our goal is to reach every hungry child so that no one remains hungry.
